Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Debut Novels For 2015

Tuesday 6 January 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by bloggers at The Broke and the BookishThis week I'm sharing the top ten debuts I'm looking forward to this year. (click the book covers to go to the goodreads page for each book).

1. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

18692431

Being allergic to the world is an interesting concept - I'm curious to see how this one goes.

2. The Wrong Side of Right by Jenn Marie Thorne

17235448

First of all, I love this cover. Plus, this sounds like a promising contemporary with the political, romantic, and family-drama themes that would be interesting to read about.

3. Tiny Pretty Things by Sonia Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

18710209

I know there are other books about ballet out there (eg. Bunheads), but I am yet to read one - and this could be a good start.

4. The Distance Between Lost and Found by Kathryn Holmes

18660756

This book looks like it has more depth than a simple YA survival story - I'm intrigued...

5. Between the Notes by Sharon Huss Roat

23261524

It's always fascinating to read books with a musical element woven into it, and this looks like a novel with heart too.

6. Made You Up by Francesca Zappia

17661416

This is the story of a girl with schizophrenia who cannot tell the difference between delusion and reality - I've never read anything like this before but from the looks of reviews so far it's a really moving novel.

7. The Night We Said Yes by Lauren Gibaldi

23287168

Having a book set in such a short period of time could make a really good read.

8. First, There Was Forever by Juliana Romano

18760564

I love contemporaries with a strong friendship theme (eg. Walking on Trampolines, Summer Sisters) - so this one looks like it could be the next hit for me.

9. The Cost of All Things by Maggie Lehrman

22999153

This, like a few other books on my list, has been compared to We Were Liars - and since I loved that I can't wait to see what this brings to the table.

10. Sweet by Emmy Laybourne

18657784

This is technically not a debut  (so I'm bending the rules a little bit) BUT I love that striking cover, and this sounds like a dream cruise which goes horrifyingly bad.

Over to you - what books are you anticipating this year?

  1. Man, this week's theme is adding so much onto my TBR list! (Not that I'm complaining. But my list IS suffering. :P) Out of these ones I have to say I am most anticipating THE DISTANCE BETWEEN LOST AND FOUND. Sounds fantastic. Great list!! :)

  3. I think the concept of Everything Everything is so unique, and would probably be really interesting to read about. Poor main character though. Being allergic to everything has got to be horrible.

    1. It definitely is something different which I haven't come across before, so I'm curious to see how it's explored and whether the character perhaps overcomes her allergies.

  4. I'm really excited to see more books about mental illness coming out. Like ones that sound really really GOOD. *flails* And Between The Notes has the most coolest cover. I hadn't heard of it till now. TO GOODREADS I GO!

    1. I know right? It's fascinating to see that topic being really delved into in deep and meaningful ways with emotional storylines.

    1. It's interesting how We Were Liars has become one of those titles which lots of other books are being compared to now. I certainly don't mind though - I love a good mystery! Thanks for stopping by Jeann :)

  6. I didn't know that Tiny Pretty Things was a debut?! :O I got it off Edelweiss but I have to read it. I'm excited about a ballet book too! I think I've only read one or two ballet based books so I'm super excited!
